We all sould our souls
In the name of rock n roll
For nothing but false hopes n dreams
But we'd do it all over again tomorrow
If it meant living free
So we had our revolution
But yet there's still war
'Cause everyone already forgets
Yea now there's nothin but burnouts, and bums
And blue collard workers sittin behind their desks
So you try to tell a hippy to cut off his hair
You try to tell a preacher that you just don't care
But you'll find that either way
You're just wasting your time
And that's the most precious thing you can get
So we all sold our souls
In the name of rock n roll
For nothin but false hopes and dreams
Yea but we'd do it all over again tomorrow

You wish for your silver
You wish for your gold
You wish for your silver
You wish for your gold
But money is madness for all those in control
And the ones who get greedy
Are left in the cold
You wish for your riches
You wish for your fame
You wish for your riches
You wish for your fame
But heavy lies the crown in this vicous game
And your left wonderin how
They'll remember your name
Every star in your sky will fall
With your every wish
Every star in your sky will fall
With your every wish
But soon your sky will be faded when all your stars fall
And then your left with nothin
To wish for at all

The Drought

Pour, I pour my spit sweat and blood
I give all I got til I can't give no more
My eyes, my eyes, my sandblasted eyes
They're soar with despare
What i see i dispise
I try and i try til there's nothing left to do
The lake of inspiration runs dry
The candle it burns, it burns oh so bright
Only to leave you alone
In the darkness of the night
Down, down, oh yea the chips are down
The weight on my shoulders weighs a thousand pounds
My passion is parched by the sun of yesterday
And tomorrow
It seems to be just the same

Well I'm leavin all my stuff
So I got nothin to remind me
Of what I used to have
In the past I put behind
So I leave you with these words
As I'm goin out the door
I'm skippin out on this here town
And I won't be back no more
So I hit that dusty road
With just me and my guitar
Well I'm gunna make it big
But I might not make it very far but that's alright
Yea that's alright
Well I hit that dirt runnin
With a guitar strapped to my back
In a home made case
With a belt made to a strap
So say what you will
But you know that either way
I'm gunna play my damn guitar
Til my dyin day
So I hit that dust road
With just me and my guitar
Well I'm gunna make it big
But I might not make it very far but that's alright
Yea that's alright
Well I don't need no more money
On this train I'm gunna ride
I got a free roamin soul
Like a dog that's never tied
So i say goodbye, now I'm on my way
But my jurney's just begun
And I leave in search of a better day
But now it's time I ramble on
So I hit that dusty road
With just me and my guitar
Well I'm gunna make it big
But I might not make it very far but that's alright
Yea that's aright

Business man
Pin-stripped suite
Briefcase never leaves his hand
Family man
Well provider
Business trips
Bullshit lire
Chorus
Steep hill
But he's quick to climb
He thought he had it under control
Now it's just
A matter of time
Just watch it as it all unfolds
Quick rise to power
And a snowblind decent
24-7 happy hour
But it won't take long
Til the money's all gone
Then he'll have nothin left
chorus
It starts with
Shifty eyes and runny nose
But still he's got his alibies
But soon it's
Sunken eyes
And a bloody nose
Whiskey rotten spitting lies
chorus
Big shot brought down
By his own medicine
And now he lives out on the street
Business man
Pin-stripped fuckin suite
Beggin for the fix he needs

The Fate of Miss Fortune
06:47
|

It was early in the morning
Daybreak just begining
When there would soon be and odd twist of fate
Three brothers were hunting
Bill, James, and George
When the young buck was quick to escape
So they walked through the trees
Felt a stiff cold breeze
Where the cliff put an end to the tracks
When they peered down the hill
It had occured to bill
That a snowmobeil had flipped and crashed
They found a body at the wreck
It was broken and cold
And a bag which was strapped to his back
Bill was first to see
Full of curiosity
So he reached out and opened the flap
Well his mouth dried up
And his blood ran thin
And his hands did shake
And with a twisted grin
His eyes black sunk back into his head
And in a trembely voice
He turned and he said
Brothers we're in deep soup
And this is our silver spoon
We'll take the cash home and hide it
Til the body is found
Then we'll split the money up
And we'll go our separate ways
But then a week went by
With no word on the body
Til one day Bill's wife cleaning, found the stash
Bill explained but she was scared
The cops would lock him away
So she said she would leave him unless he took the money back
But an unsuspecting hunter
Would see the three brothers
Returning the money where the body lie dead
Bill was quick to react
And he took the mans life
With one hit to the head
Greed setting in George said he'd confess
Unless he got his peice of the pie
Well money corrupts
As order corrods
And it wouldn't be long
Before George too, would die
Well Bill convinced James
It was all for the best
The hunter, their brother now both laid to rest
They'd split the money even
Go on with their lives
But James didn't know if he could live with the lies
No James couldn't take it
The situation was too heavey
The guilt worm ate at his head
So he swung from a nuse
He had fixed late that night
For a secret for two is best kept with one dead
There was a bang at the door
Bill was nowhere to be found
So his wife hid under the bed on the floor
See the man was standing tall
With a clean shavin face
With a gun and a badge and he was in uniform
Only to inform Bill
Of his brothers suicide
She paniced and thought of the cash
So she took the money down
To the old wood stove
And burnt every last Bill
With one strike of the match
Everything you've got
Was meant to be sold
To Ms. Fortune
She'd buy it up and bide her time
Then she'll turn around and she'll torch it
